Dick Zayac studied at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Society of Arts and Crafts. During the Korean War, Dick served as a combat artist and photographer documenting psychological warfare activities for the U.S. Army. When he returned to Detroit, he worked as a successful commercial artist. Later he moved to Grand Rapids, where he became Vice President and Executive Art Director of Nordstrom/Cox Marketing agency. Dick spent 8 years in St. Augustine, Florida painting historical landmarks. He eventually moved back to Michigan to be near to his children and grandchildren. He is a member of the Michigan Watercolor Society and his work can be found in many public and private collections.
