Steven Bezinque works as a pediatric radiologist at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spending his days with sick children has caused him to seek out a means of meditation in the form of art. Inspired by world renowned glass sculptor Dale Chihuly, Steven jump-started his glass-blowing vocation by participating in a workshop at the Corning Museum near Rochester, New York. He found that he enjoys the immediacy of transforming liquid glass into a work of art, and the resulting unique colors and forms. He also participates yearly in glass-blowing classes offered at Ox-Bow (an affiliate school of the Art Institute of Chicago located in Saugatuck, Michigan). Instead of keeping the profits of his art for himself, Steven has chosen to donate all his proceeds to Very Special Arts of West Michigan.
