Kathleen Kalinowski started exhibiting her work professionally in 1988. She paints in a variety of subject matter, but her love lies in plein-air painting, as she likes to experience nature first hand. Whether painting in pastel or oil, Kathleen has developed a subtle technique of layering color to achieve realistic results within her landscapes. She has been accepted in several prestigious juried exhibitions throughout the country. Most recently she achieved signature status with the Pastel Society of America. Her favorite pastime in the summer is enjoying her large perennial gardens, where she gets inspiration for some of her paintings.
